What Is Psychiatric Medication Management?

Medication management involves careful assessment, prescribing, monitoring, and ongoing adjustment of psychiatric medications as part of a broader treatment plan. At Biologic Behavioral, this is not a one-size-fits-all process. We take time to understand your unique symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle to tailor a plan that supports both short-term symptom relief and long-term mental health.

Evidence-Based Prescribing

We follow the latest research and clinical guidelines to ensure your medication regimen reflects what works—and avoids what doesn’t. Our psychiatrists stay current with best practices for treating:

  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Depressive Disorders
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Bipolar Disorders
  • ADHD and Executive Function Challenges
  • Insomnia and Sleep Disorders
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Psychotic Disorders (Schizophrenia)
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Significant symptoms related to acute life stressors (Adjustment Disorders)

We avoid unnecessary polypharmacy and regularly review medications for effectiveness, side effects, and opportunities to simplify your regimen. For many patients, less is more.

Integrated with Lifestyle Psychiatry

Our providers believe medication is just one part of a comprehensive care plan. We incorporate principles of lifestyle medicine —including nutrition, sleep, physical activity, meaningful social connections, avoidance of harmful substances, and stress reduction—into every treatment conversation. Research shows that these factors can meaningfully impact brain health and even reduce the need for medication over time.

We will work with you to:

  • Support healthy sleep hygiene and circadian rhythm alignment
  • Evaluate diet and nutrition as it relates to mood, energy, and inflammation
  • Encourage sustainable physical activity tailored to you
  • Address substance use, screen time, and other habits that affect mental wellness

We often collaborate with therapists, primary care physicians, and wellness professionals to create a well-rounded treatment plan.
